Pet Stop compared to Invisible Fence® Brand

During my normal course of business I am almost always asked how does Pet Stop® compare to The Invisible Fence® Brand ?

When asked this questions my thoughts turn to John Purtell, the founder of The Invisible Fence® Company and Scott Touchton former chief engineer for The Invisible Fence® These two guys created the Giant which Invisible Fence® Brand became and watched it grow until the 1990′s.

John then sold his interests in the Invisible Fence® Company and spent five years out of the market until joining Perimeter Technologies. Scott latter followed when Invisible Fence® was bought by Kohlberg and Company.

Since joining Pet Stop the Brand has become the fastest growing Brand in this category.

The culture at Perimeter Technologies unlike Invisible Fence® is to manufacture in the United States. The current owner of Invisible Fence®, Radio Systems Corporation, or Petsafe® is noted for having their product manufactured in China.

Pet Stop has introduced beneficial features such as, “The Battery Free Receiver”, “The Stopper Mode” and Compatibility with other systems. One of the Best features of Pet Stop is consistent with their training protocol of “Gentle Steps Training”, which lowers the shock level to begin training at more humane levels.

Successful Dog Fence Relies on Training

I am Stan Shane, owner of Pet Containment Systems of NY, my wife Donna and I are Pet Stop’s only authorized dealership in Central New York. We provide the best and most reasonable alternative for Electronic Dog Fencing. The core group of management at Pet Stop had their beginnings with The Invisible Fence® Company during the 1970′s.

Invisible Fence® and Dog Watch®, both competitors of Pet Containment Systems in the Central New York market, can not offer the features included in the Pet Stop Dog Fence System.

Let us begin by talking about key features which are Pet Stop’s exclusive and not available with any other Dog Fence Company.

The first and most important is the training levels built into our receivers, we have the ability by using training levels to remove harsh shock from being applied to the dog during the training phase. Once the dog is trained he aware of when and where the shock takes place so levels may be raised to a substantial level to prevent crossing the boundary.

The second most important feature of Pet Stop are the probes. Pet Stop developed what is called spring probes, they are retractable probes which move with the dogs movements and they also create a definitive point of delivering the shock. Our experience has shown by using the Spring probes we can use a lower shock level gaining superior results from the probe.

The third and most consumer friendly feature is the Rechargeable Dog Fence available by using the Eco Lite receiver. This receiver keeps the dog owner from buying expensive proprietary batteries available from manufacturers rep. An example is our Local Invisible Fence® Dealer who charges $17.99 for one battery plus a $2.50 shipping charge. This is close to an additional $900 to $1100 dollar charge over the life of the dog just to keep the dog collar running.

With Pet Stop you just plug it in and 2 1/2 hours latter you have a fresh charge good for a month. Life expectancy of the rechargeable power supply is 25 years.

Look to Pet Stop for American Made and the Best Features available.

The All New Pet Stop Rechargeable Receiver

Pet Stop’s all new rechargeable receiver has been released from Beta testing to the full run production version. This receiver not only has eliminated the need to buy batteries but it combines features not found in the competitions products.

Through the use of Pet Stop’s rechargeable receiver I have found the shock levels to be high enough to contain problem breeds as well as being gentle enough to train 12 week old puppies.

The white light activator available as an option is being included with the sale of the rechargeable receiver as a bonus for Pet Containment Systems of NY‘s customers.

Consumers looking to get a dog fence this spring in the Central New York area need to seriously consider Our Firm as we can save you hundreds in battery costs the other firms will not, because they can not offer a rechargeable receiver.

Winter is Approaching Get Your Dog Fence Now!

Winter is fast approaching in the Northeast and now is a good time to get your Pet Stop Dog Fence Installed.

There is still time to get your dog trained so when the chilly winds of winter hit you can just open the door to allow your dog access to outside while you stay warm.

Another alternative is to have us install a Hale Pet Door so your Dog can choose when to go out. A dog door such as Hale is more energy efficient than opening the the main door to let the dog out and then in.

We can install both the fence and a dog door for you.

Pet Stop Light Activator

Pet Stop has made a light activator for the Eco-Lite Receiver. This activator turns on a white light contained inside the case of the receiver. The light is visible through the case of the Lexan plastic.

Activation of the light allows the dog owner the ability to spot their pet after dark. http:..www.pcsofny.com

First Professional Re-Chargeable Receiver collar Hits Market

Pet Stop Dog Fence has added to their line up a totally Re-Chargeable Dog Fence receiver called the Eco Lite.

The Eco Lite Receiver contains all the programming to to be used for Gentle Steps Training similar to the Ultra Elite and the Tuff Receiver.

One advantage of the Eco Lite is the ability of the owner to turn on and off a white tracking light which will locate your dog after Dark or highlight your location on evening walks.

Expected life of the Eco Lite is 25 years.

The Eco Lite will program to Pet Stop Dog Guard and Invisible Fence 700 and 800 series transmitters.

My Dog was Staying in his fence, Not Now

Pet Stop Syracuse sometimes gets the complaint my dog was staying in his Dog Fence but now he is leaving the yard.
I don’t think the collar is working can you help me?

We have found once a dog has been trained to a Dog Fence and then starts leaving the yard the problem usually is not with the equipment but some other condition.

First condition to check for are the batteries still good?
There are many fence systems which have been installed, mainly Invisible Fence which has no warning of a battery going dead. Usually the owners first clue is when the dog leaves the yard.

Pet Stop is one manufacturer who has been on top of this problem with their Flash Alert Low Battery Light . This gives the owner a warning it is time to change the battery. Other manufacturers are are now catching on to this idea.

The second reason dogs leave the yard is a contact problem. By contact I mean, the probes are no longer touching the skin or making contact to deliver the proper shock. This can be because owners loosening collars or heavy hair growth in the winter months.

Many times tightening the collar will fix the problem. Pet Stop does have spring loaded probe which in its design makes ultimate contact delivering the proper shock. This can be obtained from your local Pet Stop Dealer as a dealer ( www.PetStopDogFence.com ) only item.

If these two items have been checked and your dog still leaves the yard, then your professional installer/trainer should be called for further conditioning or increase in shock levels.

My Dog is Too Old for A Hidden Fence

I am often asked what age is to old to place a dog on an invisible type dog fence. My answer has always been age does not matter as long as the dog is in good health he can be conditioned to an electronic dog fence. I have personal trained dogs 14 to 15 years that learned the fence just like a puppy.

The use of a Dog Fence will add to the overall well being of the dog due to increased activity the fencing allows.

What age can I use a dog fence?

The old rule of thumb use to be a dog needed to be at least Six Months of age to be trained to a Dog Fence.

With the advent of low shock level training such as what is designed into the Pet Stop S2 Receiver the age requirements have been relaxed to the 10 to 12 weeks of age.

Using the Pet Stop Gentle Steps Method dogs receive their first shock as an annoyance similar to a flea bite. Using minimal shock the trainer is able to condition the dog very rapidly as to where the good parts of the yard and the bad parts of the yard exist.

When purchasing a dog fence for your pet be sure to buy a system such as Pet Stop so shock levels can be controlled.

Best results are obtained with the aide of a Professional Trainer.
